Yoga is one of the six orthodox systems of Indian philosophy. It has an extensive literature and history. It is a bodily self-restraint way of keeping fit but has a lot to do with the attitude and the spirituality. It gives the disciples strength, relaxation and flexibility.

Yoga aims to create a kind of synthesis between the body, mind and the soul. Yoga has been regarded as an integral part of the holistic alternative therapy. It involves many different components, or in other words, there are many different types of yoga. The most popular type of yoga, is known as Hatha yoga.
The Hatha Yoga tradition more specifically mentions Ayurveda in terms of doshas (biological humours), prana vayu, agni (digestive fire) and dhathus (tissues) in relation with the physical side of the practice. Many Yogis also used Ayurveda herbs and many Yoga centres in India have promoted Ayurveda from ancient to modern times.
Ayurveda takes the principles of vedic yoga and 'samkhya' thoughts to extends them into the realm of healing of body and mind.
Ayurveda comprises a complete Yogic system of medicine.
The part of yoga which deals with physical exercises or poses are called asanas. The Sanskrit word asana translates to steady pose.
Yoga asanas include various physical poses or postures that helps increases blood circulation to body parts, give massage and stimulation to interval organs for rejuvenation of its functioning. Also asanas releases tensions from joints in your body to attain lightness in limbs.
Practices in yoga uses the breathing process to channel our vital energy (translation of the word prana) to every part of the body. Breathing is a very vital process of the body. It is even related to performance of human brain.
The word Mantra means something that 'protects the mind'. Their magical sounds help heal physical imbalances, relax the mind, quiet the emotions and open the heart.
Yoga nidra is the state of yogic sleep or also called as yogic relaxation. The practice of yoga relaxation has been found to reduce tension and anxiety. Yoga nidra is a type of deep meditation that helps in releasing stress in the body.
